- Is Pattle Open Source really free?
- Yes. The open-source edition is the complete commerce framework — catalog, cart, checkout, payments, promotions, multi-store, and the MCP server — under an open-source licence, with no usage limits, revenue share, or feature time bombs. Paid editions add managed infrastructure and the hosted AI suite; they never take anything away.
- What exactly is the Pattle MCP Server?
- It's a Model Context Protocol server that ships with the framework and exposes your store — products, categories, carts, and checkout — as tools any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call. Customers can ask their agent to find, compare, and buy from your store, and every action runs through the same validation, pricing, and audit pipeline as your storefront.
- Do I need to know Laravel to use Pattle?
- Pattle is a Laravel package, so your team should be comfortable with PHP and Laravel conventions. If they are, there's almost nothing new to learn: commerce capabilities are exposed through standard facades, Eloquent models, and events, and you build your storefront with whatever front end you prefer — Blade, Livewire, or a headless JavaScript framework against the API.
- Can we migrate from Magento or Shopify?
- That's the most common path. Pattle's importer and exporter tooling handles catalog, customer, and order data, and the EAV attribute system maps naturally onto Magento's data model. Enterprise customers get migration support from a dedicated success engineer.
- What happens if an AI agent misbehaves in my store?
- Agent sessions are scoped by design: payment mandates cap what an agent can spend, rate limits and permissions control what it can touch, and the auditing module records every action with full attribution — so you can review, refund, or revoke with confidence.
